Intruder Alarms
A good alarm is one you'll actually set every night. We install reliable, app-controlled alarm systems for homes and businesses, designed to the British and European standards your insurer looks for.

What we install
Home alarms
Door contacts and movement sensors, pet-friendly where needed, with an outside sounder and control from a keypad, fob or your phone.
Business alarms
Systems for shops, offices, workshops and units, with separate areas that can be set independently and a code or fob for each member of staff.
Monitored alarms
Your alarm signals to a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre, which contacts your keyholders when it activates.
Takeovers and upgrades
We can often take over and service an existing alarm, or replace the panel and keep the wiring.
Standards and your insurer
Alarms in the UK are designed to BS EN 50131 under the PD 6662 scheme, which sets a grade for the system according to the risk. Most homes and standard commercial premises suit Grade 2. Higher-risk premises, and some insurers, call for Grade 3.
If your insurer has asked for an alarm, bring the wording to the survey. We design to what the policy requires and give you the certificate to prove it.
Monitoring options
Audible only
The sounder and strobe go off at the property. This suits many homes, but nobody is told unless someone hears it.
Monitored with keyholder response
The Alarm Receiving Centre rings your nominated keyholders in turn.
Monitored with police response
Police response is arranged through a police Unique Reference Number (URN). It needs a certificated installer, an approved monitoring centre and a system set up for confirmed activations. Ask us whether it suits your property.

Frequently asked questions
Will my insurer accept the system?
Show us the policy wording at the survey. Insurers usually specify the grade, whether monitoring is needed and who maintains the system, and we design to that.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes. You can set and unset the alarm and see what happened and when.
Will pets set it off?
Not if it's designed for them. Tell us about pets at the survey and we'll use suitable sensors.
How often does an alarm need servicing?
At least once a year, and more often for monitored systems. Your first service visit is free.
How long does the outside sounder ring?
It cuts off automatically within 20 minutes, as the standards require.
